DATA DELETION INSTRUCTIONS

Voyageur Resto 2016 respects requests to delete eligible data controlled by Voyageur in connection with customer-initiated Facebook Messenger conversations.

HOW TO REQUEST DELETION

Email voyageur@thevoyageur.org using the subject line:

Data Deletion Request

In the message, provide enough non-sensitive information for us to locate the relevant interaction, such as the name used on Facebook, the approximate date of the Messenger conversation, and a brief description of the inquiry. Do not email passwords, one-time codes, payment-card details, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

VERIFICATION

To protect customers from unauthorized deletion, Voyageur will take reasonable steps to verify that the requester is associated with the relevant Messenger interaction. Verification may include asking the requester to contact the Voyageur Resto 2016 Facebook Page from the same Facebook account, confirm limited conversation details, or provide other reasonable proof. We will not request a Facebook password or Meta access token.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER VERIFICATION

After a request is verified, Voyageur will identify eligible Voyageur-controlled records connected to the request. Eligible data will be deleted or anonymized from active Voyageur systems within a reasonable period, and any applicable deletion process for backups will follow the relevant backup lifecycle.

LIMITATIONS AND LEGITIMATE RETENTION

Some records may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, abuse investigation, audit integrity, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, protection of rights, or other legitimate record-retention requirements. Where full deletion is not appropriate, Voyageur may restrict use or anonymize the information when reasonably possible.

Voyageur can act only on data it controls. Data retained independently by Meta or Facebook is governed by Meta’s own tools, settings, and policies.
